My Favorite Makeup Must-Haves

So I have people ask me all the time, “Angie – what do you use?” “Angie – what is your favorite makeup product?” “Angie – how do you get your makeup to stay on so well?”

Well I have to say… I’m getting better at doing it myself and learning from some of the amazing makeup artists I’ve had. I find myself doing more and more on a daily basis. I’m still looking for the best Primer – and the best I’ve found so far is BECCA which I picked up in Sephora in New York and recently purchased this via CultBeauty.com.

The texture is like a soft, non-oily gel and it has a slight whiteness to it, but that goes away when you spread it out on skin. Once it dries down, you immediately feel a difference. It is as dry as dry can be. With this primer underneath, I feel like my coverage has never slid off, and I’ve never felt compelled to blot myself with powder in the ladies’ room. It just hasn’t been a problem. Oh, and you can apply this either underneath your makeup or on top for touch-ups.

Just getting used to changing from MAC Studio Fix Powder to Fluid Fix which gives better coverage. The finish is semi-matte; not completely matte yet not completely luminous. This makes it easy to use on both dry and oily skin types. It is quite thick in consistency but blends really well with a makeup sponge or stippling brush. In spite of being thick in consistency it doesn’t make you look cakey and heavy when used wisely it looks natural , lightweight on my skin and gives me a great matte finish after completely setting it.

Currently loving my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. Some concealers, when you pop them on your dark circles, end up looking sort of gray-ish? That happens to me all the time but not with NARS. I love how I can layer and also highlight with this full coverage (and yes it covers EVERYTHING) concealer.

Working on the eyebrows using BENEFIT Precisely, My Brow Pencil, just need to master the shape that works for my face. The tip is extra-fine so you can draw on realistic hair-like strokes, dramatically filling brows in while still making them look natural. The pencil tip is stiff and leaves an opaque trail of product behind without wearing down too quickly.

Happy experimenting with lip colours and have a selection of MAC pencils from Current to Chestnut to Cherry. Lipglass from Spite to Viva Glam Rihanna to L’Oréal Plum to D&G Daring. I love a long lasting liner that stays put paired with a flirty glossy shine.

For my next big purchase I want to invest in some Rose Golden Zoeva brushes – absolutely gorgeous.
