Meryl Streep, Jimmy Fallon and a new Harry Potter!

Meryl Streep is to star in a new film with Hugh Grant. It’s called Florence and it’ll be directed by Stephen Frears who made Philomena last year. It’s is the true story of Florence Foster Jenkins, a New York heiress and socialite who wanted to be a great opera singer, but who lacked any real ability. Hugh is expected to play Florence’s partner and manager St Clair Bayfield – an aristocratic English actor who was determined to protect Florence from the truth.


Tyra Banks

Tyra Banks’s new talk show will launch in 2015. It’s called The F.A.B (Fun and Beautiful) and will also feature Chrissy Teigen, Joe Zee, Lauren Makk and Leah Ashley as co-hosts.

Downton Abbey actress Lily James – aka Lady Rose – is busy establishing her Hollywood career. She’s already made Cinderella, directed by Kenneth Branagh, which will be out in May and she’s also expected to star in a new BBC adaptation of War And Peace. Now she’s in talks to star in a film about a movie crew trying to make a film during the Blitz. It’s called Their Finest Hour And A Half and will also feature rising Brit star Sam Clalflin.

US TV host Jimmy Fallon is releasing a new children’s book. It’s called Your Baby’s First Word Will Be Dada. The picture book is described as “a hilarious account of every father’s secret campaign to ensure that their babies’ first word is Dada -– not Mama!” During the story, illustrated animals from cows, sheep, and horses to mice and frogs try to coax their babies into saying “Dada.”

Martin Clunes and Catherine Tate will walk the red carpet at the premiere of their new film Nativity 3: Dude Where’s My Donkey on November 2. It follows earlier films starring Martin Freeman and David Tennant – one much better than the other!

James Corden will launch his Late, Late Show in the US on March 9. He’s taking over the show from fellow Brit Craig Ferguson who leaves on December 19.


Paul Giamatti

Damian Lewis is returning to TV. He’s going to star alongside Paul Giamatti in drama Billions for Showtime. The series revolves around the clash between a US Attorney (Giamatti) and a hedge fund boss (Lewis).

Eric Clapton is to play seven nights at the Royal Albert Hall next year. It’s to celebrate his 70th birthday and also marks 50 years since he first played the venue with The Yardbirds. He’ll be playing shows from May 14 to 23.

JK Rowling is publishing a new story from the Harry Potter world. It’s a 1,700 word story that will be about Hogwarts teacher Dolores Umbridge – played by Imelda Staunton in the films. It will be available on the Pottermore website on October 31.

This week’s trailers includes one of my most anticipated films of 2015 – Avengers: Age of Ultron. I went into the first Avengers film not really exacting much and I absolutely loved it! This one looks pretty good too:

Oscar-nominee Michelle Williams stars in Suite Francaise which follows a romance between a French woman and a German soldier during the early days of World War II:
