My 2018 Year In Review

It’s been quite a year! Lots of exciting and amazing things happened in 2018 for me… banquets, awards, concerts, events, trips to Paris and Spain and… I’ve got two words: Oprah and Michelle!

February

Black Panther European Premiere

I have never known such fevered pitch for a movie.  I’ve been excited, calm, exhilarated, nervous you name it.  I went along to the Black Panther European Premiere … and I can’t even!!!  Check it out HERE

March

Oprah. Oprah. Oprah.

The European Premiere of A Wrinkle In Time saw me meeting my idol. My inspiration and one of the reasons I do what I do today. For me, Oprah is the epitome of strength and perseverance and a prime example of what it means to live fearlessly and do anything you can dream up.

Imagine my excitement when I got the chance to MEET her! I was overwhelmed for sure!

April

My birthday month was a BIG deal this year. Not only did people at the Magic Studios and my family make it special… but this year we took it to the next level with the After Work Jam/Angie’s Birthday Bash. There were celebrities, dancing, singing and… click here to see all the amazingness that was my birthday party! It was beyond FAB!

May

I had SUCH a great time with everyone on social media watching the Royal Wedding! Talking with you as we watched history was one of the highlights of my year! Check out my article on the wedding HERE

June

PRINCE – His Hair and His Hairdresser

There’s no need for me to tell you – again – how I feel about Prince.  So meeting his hairdresser of 29 years, Kim Berry, extended that feeling of love.  Check out my interview HERE

July

Charlie Wilson has been on the airwaves with new music in five different decades, a feat accomplished only by an elite few. His longevity has made him a legend of sorts for younger artists, who refer to Wilson affectionately as Uncle Charlie.

He is magic. And I had the privilege to interview Uncle Charlie on Magic Soul Breakfast. Check it out HERE

Barcelona bound! I hadn’t been on an aeroplane for 18 months and although the weather in the UK had been FABULOUS and just right for a staycation, I wanted to treat myself.  So off to Gatwick , destination Barcelona.  Read all about it HERE!

September

A to the G…

So in September, I spent a magical hour with Mr Dench himself, Lethal Bizzle. Read all about it HERE

You can find me in the club
Wow….. Curtis James Jackson III, aka Kanan from Power walked out onto the stage at the O2 this September and I can’t explain what happened, I can’t find the adjective, all I know is that his stage presence just blew me to pieces.

October

Awards, Awards, Awards … October brought the Black Magic Awards and the Black British Business Awards. I was more than honoured to receive awards for Services to Radio.

Read all about it HERE…

November

Paris and Fantastic Beasts!

I headed off to Paris with my Magic colleagues to attend the Premiere of the JK Rowling film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.  It was a FABULOUS day as we all presented our shows live from a boat on the Seine in the city of Love. Read all about it HERE!

December

All I can say is… Monday 3rd December 2018 will be etched in stone for me.  In fact, Sunday 2nd December is probably a better day to highlight.
I got a call from Penguin Random House asking if I’d like to be one of a small team of press when Michelle Obama visits the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School in Islington.  Err… yes.  Read more about that amazing day HERE

Loved being part of #ICAPCharityDay with my fellow #DressForSuccess Patrons and Ambassadors who provide business attire, mentoring and interview skills to empower women to return to work.

The WACL Ball (Women in Advertising and Communications London) is one of the strongest networking groups I have been exposed to and their Christmas Gala is a truly spectacular affair raising funds for Charity, this year’s beneficiaries were MIND and NABS.

Thanks to my colleague, Denise Parkinson, at the Telegraph for inviting me to get involved in their Download and Keep initiative – a service provided by the British Association for Screen Entertainment (BASE).

What were the highlights of your year? Any memories that really stood out? I’d love to talk about this with you on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
