All I want For Christmas Is…
Mariah Carey is turning author – she’s joining forces with her husband Nick Cannon to write a children’s book called Roc and Roe’s 12 Days of Christmas. Roc and Roe are the couple’s twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

Apparently the book will offer a ‘unique spin on the 12 Days of Christmas carol’. It’ll be out in the US later this year. Unfortunately there are currently no plans to release it in the UK.

Stephen Fry for Prime Minister!
It had to happen, Stephen Fry is to become British Prime Minister, well on screen at least.

He’ll be playing the PM in 24: Live Another Day – the new chapter in the 24 franchise. The series, which stars Keifer Sutherland, is due to begin filming in London imminently and should be on TV in May.

Sharon Stone as the Vice President?
Sharon Stone has signed a deal to star as the Vice President in a new US TV series. The show’s called Agent X and centres on America’s first female VP who learns that her job has a top secret duty: to protect the US Constitution in times of great crisis.

The series is at pilot stage at the moment so we’ll have to see if it gets picked up for a full season.

Babs, Beyonce and Gaga
Barbra Streisand is the latest star set to release an album of duets and she’s got some major stars lining up to join her.

According to reports, the new album will feature Streisand appearing alongside the likes of Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Blake Shelton, Stevie Wonder, Michael Buble, Josh Groban and Lionel Ritchie. What a line-up! No word yet on a release date.

Dallas Buyers Club

Fancy a bit of celeb spotting?
Probable Oscar winners Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto will be at the Apple store on London’s Regent Street on 30th January  to promote their new film, Dallas Buyers Club.

The duo will be in town to attend the film’s UK premiere as well. Leto seems to be a shoo-in for the Best Supporting Actor award and following his win at the Screen Actors Guild McConaughey looks like a safe bet for the Best Actor Oscar too.

Naughty Hugh Jackman
Hugh Jackman has joined the cast of director Joe Wright’s latest film, Pan.

He’s playing the film’s villain, Blackbeard. The story follows a young orphan who is taken to the magical world of Neverland and leads a rebellion against the evil pirates. It’ll be interesting to see Jackman playing against type as the film’s baddie.

Rising Brit star cast as Jesse Owens
British actor John Boyega has won the role of Olympic athlete Jesse Owens in a new film about his life. The film is called Race and will focus on how Owens shattered Adolf Hitler’s myth of Aryan supremacy at the 1936 Berlin Olympics by winning a record four gold medals in the 100 metres, the 200m, the long jump and the 400m relay.

Filming is due to begin in May. Boyega is best known for his role in action-comedy Attack The Block.
