The Power of Queen B

Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter is my September Woman of the Month, not only because September is her birthday month but I feel it’s important to highlight all that she does.  She’s taken her celebrity status, and yes there’s the shows, the glitz, the glamour, the jewelry, the perfectly produced media photos, BUT behind all the gloss and hype, together with husband Shawn “Jay Z” Carter, she silently donates a percentage of her earnings (millions in some cases) to heal certain geographical areas of the world, whilst balancing being a wife and mother.  You Go Queen B!

Beyoncé is not just a pop culture icon, she is also a master media artist, collaborator and a mother.

“[Having a daughter] just gives you purpose and all of the things that my self-esteem was associated with, it’s all completely different. I realized why I was born and more than anything all of the things I want to pass onto my child and the best way of doing that is not by preaching or telling her but showing her by example, which is one of the reasons I’m here.”

“Out of everything I’ve accomplished, my proudest moment hands down was when I gave birth to my daughter Blue.”

Now, of course, she’s Mum to two more angels.

Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s family grew from three to a family of five with the arrival of their twins — a daughter named Rumi and a son named Sir. JAY-Z opened up about their names…

“Rumi is our favorite poet, so it was for our daughter,” the 47-year-old revealed during the second part of his interview on the Rap Radar podcast. “And then Sir was, like, man, come out the gate. He carries himself like that. He just came out, like, Sir.”

Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today. ??❤️??????????

Bey shares the love…

The Houston-born songstress recently posted on Instagram that she was praying for her home state. Then a few days later she announced that her BeyGOOD Houston charity will team up with Bread of Life and Greater Houston Community Foundation. The two groups have been working with those who lost or left their homes since the hurricane Harvey devastated the area. Her website has a page dedicated to donations for the two groups.

Beyoncé is following up on her promise “to help as many as we can” in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

“Join us as the BeyGOOD team heads to Houston to continue our relief efforts on the ground. We have teamed up with Bread of Life and Greater Houston Community Foundation, who have been working with the displaced from the start of Hurricane Harvey’s landfall.”

It seems that this amazing woman is always helping others. She is the quintessential mother goddess. Helping everyone from the unemployed to the sick, Bey’s BeyGood foundation aims to make the world a more beautiful place. The superstar raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight for gender equality worldwide, given school supplies to students across the nation and hosted food drives in Houston.

That music though…

One word. Lemonade.

There is little doubt that Beyoncé’s creation is epic in terms of racial identity and feminism. Possibly the highest female paid performer is addressing the issues of misogyny, sexuality, infidelity, black feminism and self affirmation in ways that have never been seen before in mainstream music. She also released the entire 65-minute visual album on HBO, again daring to push the boundaries before the rest of the music industry.

What do you think about Beyonce?  I’d love to hear your thoughts on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram. Let’s talk about it!
