I’m delighted to be joining BBC Radio4’s Fi Glover and Anita Anand to host the new Sound Women Festival this May.
As well as some of the country’s brightest audio talent, there will be business leaders, sports people and many others from across the arts and media at the event, all getting behind the idea of helping women achieve their full potential. To get a feel for what Sound Women is all about, watch the launch video above.
There will be a couple of free workshops too, looking at building confidence and believing in your own abilities, and examining different ways of working and finding the right work/life balance.
Says Radio Today, “The afternoon will be dedicated getting everyone enthused, animated and feeling creative about what they can accomplish in the audio industry.”
Founder of Sound Women, Maria Williams, said: “Our first Sound Women Festival will be about amazing people sharing their experiences – whether they’ve overcome hurdles, ripped up the rulebook or just come up with a brilliant idea. We want to inspire our audience to succeed – exploring all the possibilities out there, and revealing how to make the most of them.”
I’m really fired up about this event, and hope to see as many radio lovers as possible taking part and becoming inspired about a career in radio.
