Midlife today is very different to Midlife 10 or 20years ago, it’s a positive time and we have a lot to bring to the table with our wisdom, emotionally, and also in the work place. MidLife is the “it” word at the moment but …. how do you navigate being happy in MidLife?? “How To Be A Happy Woman In MidLife” goes beyond menopause (another “it” word now that we’re allowed to talk about it!!). Social Psychology expert Anita Hamilton researches and shares experiences of women in the midlife age group and talks sex, finances, navigating marriage, divorce, being single in midlife and more than anything how to be happy and why you owe it to yourself especially if you’ve been a wife/partner, brought up children and held down a career. As MidLife approaches congratulate yourself and be a little selfish (it’s ok), take a supply of the happiness you’ve given others and apply it to yourself. Yes peeps, am in my book zone. After turning the pages of The Good Ally by Nova Reid we met and had a positive talk about how her public speaking engagements moved her towards writing this book. I was drawn to how she articulately (and gently) explained how our emotions and our feelings shift at times of racial tension and micro-aggressions. Yes we’ve heard this before but Nova also taps into the generational trauma, the struggles, the hesitation to be our true selves that can also questions us examining our own behaviour!! It is 2024, the world is changing, mixed couples are on the rise, gaining an understanding of all cultures is therefore an important road to “healthily” navigate if we are going to embrace a positive future. Not saying all the answers are in this book, but it’s a great start, and a great read. Thanks for your time Nova, keep up the public speaking and keep writing. Ax ❤️📚 #ABC #TheGoodAlly

Yes peeps, as always Shalamar knock it out the park whenever they come to the UK and it was a special one because they went back to the Dominion Theatre which is where they first performed here in London. Gwen Dickey had the whole venue emotional with “Wishing On A Star”. Now one thing none of us can work out was how someone from the audience got on the stage and started dancing with Jeffrey Daniel …. confused dot com because that stage is high.
