Angie’s Book Club – The Four Agreements

Hello everyone! Just wanted to touch base with you about Angie’s Book Club!

During our weekly staff meeting we were talking about books, one of our favorite things to do. We were discussing books to feature on and two ladies on my team of Angels, Ayshea and Amy, have read a book called The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom (A Toltec Wisdom Book). They both raved about it and said it changed their lives! It’s a short book and well written and I thought it would be a great book for us to read together.

I’m also super excited to announce that I am launching my new ABC Facebook Group. A closed group where we read our selected book together, discuss the books we love and get real. You’ll also be the first to know about upcoming events and all things Angie’s Book Club.

Why this book?

Author Don Miguel Ruiz lays out a simple formula for staying on the path of mindfulness in his book. His four agreements are an effective guideline for mindful thinking. They are:

Ruiz ties the first agreement, being “impeccable with your word” (i.e., using words “in the direction of truth and love”), to having integrity when you speak. But all four agreements underline the importance of living authentically and honoring yourself by respecting your own integrity as well as the integrity of others.

There are four agreements that can guide us in our dream to immunity from the stress, hate, anger, and gossip all around us.  None of these are easy, but can be accomplished through practice and repetition.

We’ll be discussing one agreement per week starting February 6th – that will give us all plenty of time to get the book and begin reading. During that week I’ll be in the Facebook Group off and on to chat with you every day about what you think of what we’ve read. And quite possibly will hop onto Facebook Live to chat about the book with all of you. The first week will be BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD. Do you mean what you say?

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am about all of this! So come on over to Angie’s Book Club and let’s get reading!
