Taking some time off during the girl’s summer holiday was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Too much time goes by during the school year where we are like ships passing in the night. Last year we experienced 3 long haul breaks so it was nice to choose Staycations …..
Monday was a chill out day, no alarm and jumping out of bed well after 11am – Fabulous. Morggan and I went out for a girly evening.
Tuesday was Harry Potter day with Kamarane. I owe Harry and JK Rowling quite a lot. When Kammie was in Yr4 she stopped reading out loud, a friend in her class gave her a copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone which they read together during ERIC time (Everyone Read In Class). That Christmas all she wanted was Harry Potter DVDs which she watched and then went on to read all the books. Because of her excitement she started reading out loud again and is now in Performing Arts. We got through The Philosopher’s Stone, The Chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Goblet of Fire. The Order of the Phoenix, The Half Blood Prince and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2 will have to be over a weekend or one a morning until she goes back to school.
Wednesday I picked up Tesla X from 3FEV in Reigate and head off to BlueWater where I spent the day shopping. I was a little disappointed when Morggan got a call to go into work because of staff shortages, but I took her in the Tesla – so she got a little fix! BlueWater during the week is quiet, the queues to shop are bearable, and there’s room to breath, I didn’t get that claustrophobic feeling that shopping centres create.
Boots for serums, lotions and creams. The Body Shop was a place to load up on Hemp and Strawberry hand cream, along with Matcha Tea Japanese face mask. New Look and Kiko for nail polishes. Smashbox was the place for lipsticks, gloss and lip liners. Shopping is a hungry business and Bills serves a mean Chicken Caesar salad!
Our day in BlueWater ended with clothes shopping and comparing mother and daughter clothing. Luminaries and Millennials can definitely work side by side without discomfort.
Thursday was the day that the Tesla needed to be returned to 3FEV, and it was returned reluctantly! Any interest in test driving the Tesla S, Tesla X or Tesla 3, feel free to contact 3FEV. It’s an experience that will change your views on driving. There’s no engine and no exhaust, it’s fully electric. No fumes, no oil changes required, no spark plugs to change. Just clean, eco friendly, quiet driving. The Tesla experience is something that needs to be experienced because I can’t find the wording to explain the journey in the car.
The afternoon involved a trip to KUB hair – I need a new wig. I’ll display the results on the newsletter, the site and Instagram.
Friday was the last week day of not responding to an alarm and it was a day with no agenda.
Saturday was all about Jay Z!

The Brooklyn rapper performed the first of two headline slots for the festival at Staffordshire’s Weston Park last night, and will perform his second scheduled headline show in Chelmsford’s Hylands Park later tonight (August 20).
Towards the end of his set, Jay took time to pay his own tribute to Bennington, who tragically died last month. The rapper collaborated with the frontman and Bennington’s band, Linkin Park, on the 2004 EP ‘Collision Course’, which saw the two artists mash up each other’s songs.
It was a week to remember for sure. Lots of fun, lots of relaxation, lots of amazing time spent with my girls. How has your Summer been? Did you take a vacation or a staycation? I’d love to hear all about it on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Even though I had a world of fun, I’m very glad to be back with you this week!
