Evening peeps, let me tell you about the book “Victory Is My Name” by Nicola Morrison. This brave lady shares what it’s like to be a minority black girl in an affluent primary school, followed by the colourism challenges she met when going to a mixed and more culturally diverse high school. She also shares her experience striving to climb the ladder as a young, journalist of colour in a predominately older, male, White dominated industry. Along the way, there were personal challenges too! Chances are there will be chapters and experiences that Nicola shares which I’m sure you can resonate with which is why it was it was so important for me to talk to her. If Nicola can be victorious there’s no reason why you can’t be as well. Tapping into childhood trauma can be painful, but coming out the other side victoriously helps you ease the pain. Good morning peeps and a happy Friday to you. I’m still smiling about the Nordoff and Robbins Christmas Carol Concert that was held at St Luke’s Church in Chelsea. I had the pleasure of hosting and as a music lover (of all genres) it was so good to see and hear how the impact of music therapy can uplift and heal. One speaker was very open about how music assisted with her daughter’s depression. David and Carrie Grant spoke about the power of Music Therapy, how music can uplift Autistic children and adults with Alzheimer’s and Dementia (I used to make CDs for my Dad who had Dementia).

A super uplifting evening highlighting how music can uplift and heal.

Thank you Nordoff and Robbins, such a pleasure to be involved and whether I host next year or not I’ll definitely attend again. Merry Christmas. Ax ❤️🎄🎶

Morning peeps, it’s been quite a week of Christmas celebrations. Wednesday it was straight down to Quaglino’s after my show on Smooth for the charity event and silent auction supporting the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice. And believe me it was an energetic room. Amongst all the tinsel, the food, the Prosecco, the Champagne, and the celebrations always spare a thought for those who can’t fully get into the Christmas vibe because of loss or pain….. it can be a lonely time. Thanks to Quaglino’s, the ever lovely Kara Smith (as always) and Jenny Stoute for being great company on this prestigious evening. Ax 👗: @jdwilliamsuk

Both @angellicabell and myself are Vice Presidents of @tricawardsuk so we have to go to these events🤣But it was such a great time to be in a room of legends we watched on TV and listened to on the radio. Evening peeps. Let’s talk #wellnesswednesday with @iamscottharrison Founder of @thesixpackrevolution. Got a lot of time for this guy because of his passion for living a well balanced life, physically, mentally and emotionally. SPR is not about being slim, it’s about valuing your body and feeding it with the right foods. And yes, there is a 75 day eating plan which does mean cutting out alcohol and sugary treats but the end results speak for themselves. I did the Plan to the letter about 18 months ago and the basis of my eating during the week is now based on the SPR Plan. I’m running this episode again, especially as Christmas is creeping up …. yuh get me??? Scott explains why he believes SPR works and gets longer lasting results than other eating plans. Morning peeps … been a hectic few days with back to back events and celebrations. Couldn’t miss the @karasmith11 birthday lunch, even though I know I always have to leave early to get to @smoothradio to present the Home Time show. There’s always such positive energy when we get together, but I do know leaving early is probably the best thing for me!!! A little impromptu singing from @beverleyknight always turns heads and warms hearts, and Charlotte Weatherhall from the Corinthia makes sure those little extra touches make events extra special. Good morning peeps … I was invited to the launch of @tenawomanuk’s new Silhouette underwear range at the iconic Pineapple Studios, where we danced with Strictly Come Dancing star Kristina Rihanoff

This event completely smashed the image of what the TENA woman looks like. All women of all ages need to do their pelvic floor exercises whether that’s a young mother in her 20’s or a MidLifer to prevent or take care of bladder weakness. Bladder weakness and leaks are far more common than many of us realise, and no one should have to suffer in silence.

The energy in the room was incredible: the giggles, the stories, the openness, and of course the dancing!

Morning peeps ….. Here’s the second part of my Azio Beauty video. The ethos was about ageing boldly, and looking after yourself without feeling guilty. Sharing love amongst your loved ones should be just that “sharing love” and not feeling the need to act out of duty. One you “desire” to do, the other “you feel you have to do”. The energy and feelings are miles apart. Make sense? Giving from an empty cup can’t continue long term, you’ll burn out, so you really shouldn’t feel guilty about filling yourself up. Another icon earns his wings. With a career that spanned so many decades he touched so many lives musically. @quincyjones worked with the likes of Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, GodDaughter Patti Austin, George Benson, was the Producer of Michael Jackson’s Thriller album, the list goes on. Who could forget the album “The Dude”, the collaborations he crafted on “Back On The Block”, “Q’s Jook Joint”???? Hey peeps, Happy Wednesday, so let’s talk Wellness. I recently interviewed Candice Braithwaite about her book “Manifesto” and I’m re-reading the chapter about Wellness, especially the section “What Does Wellness Mean To You”? For me it’s a personal thing that goes way beyond physically feeling well …. and without giving too much away, Candice mentions “letting go”, “forgiveness”, “listening to your body” etc. You owe it to yourself to thrive and not just survive, and as challenging as it may be attempt to practice healthy habits so that you can reach more positive outcomes in life mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually. And also think about what you do with your time. Do you use your time wisely? How do you balance your time? Time is something you can never get back. Think about it. Have a great Wednesday evening. Morning peeps, this is 92yrs of life, legacy, hard work, wisdom, cussing😂 and most importantly love ❤️❤️. Mum keeps moving through the aches and pains, and every Tuesday morning after my gym class I take her for her weekly food shop, the grocery list very rarely changes week to week so I offer to go in her place but she likes to keep moving and I know it’s also a little social time because most of the staff at Sainsbury’s know Marjorie!! It’s heartbreaking watching her mobility decrease but it’s also a blessing that she can still move. We are all products of our parents, the good, (the not so good) and the childhood parts we attempt to emotionally lock away, so when they get to a certain age remember the good, embrace the life and (I know it sounds like a cliche but) take each day as a gift. Happy belated birthday mum. Love you heaps😘 Angela 🎉🥳🎂🎁
