Recharge & Keep Going…

As we brace ourselves for colder mornings and nights this Autumn, it can feel like a sadness is taking over when the light draws to a close earlier each day.

However there are still many days before the end of the year (and Christmas…yes I said it!). If you started the year feeling great and that you could conquer all…how do you feel now? No matter how far you feel you’ve come or what still needs changing, use the shift in season to sort out clothes closets as well as your mind and recharge yourself to Do better, Be better, visualise and stay on track.

For some, it’s knuckling down to studies, from final school years, to Uni to PhD’s. For others it’s finding a job more suitable to where you are in life right now. Know that the world of jobs is much bigger than what you can see as we often get ‘stuck’ thinking that what you do is all you can do. However, from personal experience and numerous clients & friends stories later, it is hard work but you can change what you do. Maybe we’ll talk about that in the new year! For now, let’s recharge.

Some ways to recharge:

  • Go away on holiday (if you earn it, spend some but pay the bills 1st!) or take a train or coach to the coast, just wrap up
  • Take a day to do exactly what you want (you know when you see those people at lunch time enjoying their coffee and you wish you could stay and do that, well now’s your chance.
  • On the weekend do something totally different, break the cycle
  • Visit somewhere local you’ve never been (take a flask and sandwiches to save money)
  • Visit someone & reconnect, have a laugh – it can lift empty feelings and break up the monotony
  • Pick up the phone, sit down and chat to someone (break this email/txt habit to stay in ‘touch’)
  • Go to an actual bookshop and find some good reads
  • Decide to cook something different, warm & hearty and savour the new tastes

NB. See our book of the month (Oct) ‘Miracle Foods’ to help you & to build your immune system

One survey says we don’t actually do more than we did 20 years ago, it just feels that way because we do more little bits of everything each day, along with the social media/email constant distraction. So, instead of sitting to take a phone call, we do it while typing or eating or cooking.

Whatever you choose to do, just take it one day at a time and ‘B’easier on yourself’ (Devon’s quote). Remember to stretch your arms out and breathe, in between the rush to let more oxygen in, to think clearer and see what’s right in front of you e.g. leaves changing colour. Then recharge, plan ahead and keep going.
