#MoveMoreMonth

While we all know exercise should be part of our daily routine, sometimes we just don’t realize just how easy it is to add physical activity to everyday activities. Not everyone has hours to spend in the gym, or even 30 minutes to take a walk every day.

#MoveMoreMonth is all about getting creative to sneak in more daily movement. Here are some ways I’ve found to add a bit more hustle to my bustle.

Work it during your work day.
Try moving more while you perform routine tasks. Start by taking one weekly meeting to go by walking while you meet. Other options include taking the stairs more often, parking farther out or taking stretch breaks throughout the day. ALWAYS take the stairs.

Start off the right way.
Live a few miles away from your job? Consider walking or biking into work a couple times per week. You can burn calories and be more productive and focused once you start your day, too. Keep a change of clothes at your desk so you’re always prepared.

Bust a move wherever you are.
We are meant to get at least 150 minutes of moderate activity every week. We can do that by taking small activity breaks, setting reasonable expectations and finding a move more buddy. No matter what you do, it’s important to stay motivated by making every move count and celebrate your accomplishments.

Keep it short and sweet. Not every workout has to be an hour-long huge deal. Consider shorter, more efficient workouts to free up more time during your week. 10 minutes of movement can change everything.

How do you get more exercise in your daily routine? Have any strategies to share? What’s your favourite way to get moving? I’d love to hear all about it on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
