With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s the perfect excuse to make your lips look extra kissable with a new lipstick. Avon have just launched their new Ultra Colour Indulgence Lipsticks, they are made with hydrating gels and shea butter rather than the traditional wax which lipsticks are made from. They also increase lip moisture four times more than usual.
I like the texture of these lipsticks, they’re creamy, glide onto the lips and have great shine. Bright and super rich in colour, they come in 15 shades and I’m tempted to order a couple more once I see some more swatches (it’s times like this that I wish Avon had a high street presence).
Red Dahlia is a mid-dark red and Purple Hyacinth is a bright purple pink, both have an intense glossy finish. Make sure your lips are well prepped/moisturised before application as bright shades will highlight any imperfections.
I’d recommend pairing these with a lip liner, for although they’re intense in shade and glossy on application, I personally think they look ‘tidier’ with a lip lined finish. I also noticed when I pressed my lips together, that they have a funny aftertaste. I’m guessing this is because of the new formula and whilst it wasn’t so bad, I didn’t want to wear the lipsticks, it can be distracting. Overall, this is a welcomed line of lipsticks which last well on the lips and leave them feeling nourished – particularly handy throughout the winter chill we’re currently experiencing!
How much are they? £8 each – currently on an introductory offer of £5.25
