I had SUCH a great time with you all on Saturday! Watching the Royal Wedding whilst talking with you all was the highlight of my weekend!
The House of Windsor now has some African American blood as Harry marry’s Suits actress Meghan Markle. What did you think of the wedding? Didn’t Meghan look gorgeous and as for her mum with her natural flowing hair!
Black excellence was at the core of this wedding. A gospel choir? An African American preacher quoting Martin Luther King Jr? The same preacher talking about slavery and FIRE and LOVE? Black cellist creating heavenly sounds? Serena rocking braids and Mummy Markle looking stunning in her dreadlocks? It was amazing and beautiful and gave me so much hope for our future. I was crying right along with everyone else.
Harry and William are our “boys”. And I can’t help but feel a little bit like all of us were cheering for him for his Mum. Diana was honoured multiple times as well.
-
Princess Diana’s older sister Lady Jane Fellowes spoke at the ceremony as previously announced by Kensington Palace.
-
All three of Diana’s siblings attended.
-
Harry picked out two diamonds once belonging to his mother for Meghan’s ring “to make sure that she’s with us on this crazy journey together,” he told BBC.
-
They used one of Diana’s favorite flowers, White Roses, for the wedding flowers. And Meghan’s bouquet included Forget-Me-Nots, which were Diana’s favorite flower, Kensington Palace confirmed in a statement. “The couple specifically chose them to be included in Ms. Markle’s bouquet to honour the memory of the late Princess on this special day,” the announcement read.
-
The bride accessorized her second wedding dress with Diana’s aquamarine ring.
This was definitely a history in the making event. What did you make of the event? And what were your favourite outfits?
Here are a few of my favourite moments from the beautiful day!
