Angie’s Birthday Bash and the After Work Jam

My actual birthday on Thursday 26th April at work was crazy – lovely but crazy.

My colleagues at Magic Radio really do know how to make birthdays special.  Colin the Chocolate Caterpillar and singing Happy Birthday completely out of tune ….. just had me howling with laughter and it really set me up for the day.

Lemar made an appearance in Magic Soul Breakfast and brought me a Satsuma – I know; Mr G arranged for some beautiful roses to be delivered to Magic; my colleagues gave me cards galore; and the day ended with a large bottle of Prosecco!

The weekend was lovely with the Morggan, Kamarane and Mr G taking me to Royal China Restaurant in Banstead, no Rose on this occasion but lots of Prosecco!

The following Monday my celebrations ended at the swanky 100 Wardour St in Central London with a beautiful crowd of school friends and industry friends.  I must must must thank John Fisher and The IDMC Choir who sang “Happy Birthday Stevie Wonder”.  Junior Giscombe, oh my goodness, the first UK Soul artist to sing on Soul Train with Don Cornelius, he sang Mamma Used to Say and Morning Will Come – fabulous.  Gillian Joseph, Roachford, Robbie Gee, Dona Kroll, Ellen Thomas and the amazing singing group Shalamar, Howard Hewitt, Carolyn Griffey and Jeffrey Daniel walked into  the room and just finished the evening off perfectly.

Monday 30th April also saw the launch of the After Work Jam, with Diane Dunkley RM2 Music, a place where you can just chill out after work, a place where the ethos is :

a) When it comes to stressful situations and stressful people, knock it out the park

b) Forget your job title – it’s OK, honestly

c)  Let go, enjoy yourself and re-charge

The next After Work Jam will be in June, sign up for the newsletter where you’ll see all the details.
