I haven’t been on an aeroplane for 18 months and although the weather in the UK has been FABULOUS and just right for a staycation, I wanted to treat myself. So off to Gatwick Wednesday morning, destination Barcelona.
Taking time away from the job can have physical and psychological health benefits. People who take vacations have lower stress, less risk of heart disease, a better outlook on life, and more motivation to achieve goals……. believe me.
Connect with nature by hiking through the woods, walking in the park, strolling on the beach or kayaking up a creek. Breathing in the outdoors enables you to leave the everyday world behind and immediately begins the decompression of your built-up stress. If you can’t afford to take a proper vacation, lots of fun can be had by taking a “staycation”. The point is you need to escape from the every day stress that is wearing you down.
Benefits of taking a vacay!
Traveling exposes you to new cultures, new people and new activities. You learn not only about the world but also about yourself.
Getting out of town, sitting on a sandy beach somewhere or running through city streets is exhilarating. A change of scenery and some R&R is good for the soul.
On vacations, we tend to love the idea that we can do whatever, get a little crazy and not really have to worry about it, because we don’t know anyone.
Vacations give you so many choices. When choosing your vacation, you can go anywhere, do anything, BE fancy free and footloose!
Gorgeous fresh fruit, olives, some Spanish Rose, great Paella, some culture and relaxation at the hotel spa. I do love staycations but something kicks in and gets the adrenalin going when you know you’re getting on an aeroplane. Whether a beach break or city break travel and time out can be so therapeutic.
