After writing about how ‘Hamilton is Changing The World’ in 2016, on Saturday 14th April I finally went to the matinee performance at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre. I can’t speak, I can’t even …….. just go and see it.
Jamael Weston plays lead as Alexander Hamilton, my colleague Gabriel Mokake who is normally in the Ensemble was awesome in the role of Hercules Mulligan/James Madison, Rachel John in the role of Angelica Schuyler just rocks, Obioma Ugoala blew the roof off as George Washington and as for the Olivier Award winning Giles Terera as Aaron Burr, well he just leads the whole musical, weaves it together and after seeing him on Saturday I can truly say he thoroughly deserved his Olivier Award. If I didn’t personally know these cast members I would have honestly believed that they were American; the accents, the attitude, everything was just on point. Tickets for Hamilton are like hot cakes, but get yourself on the Hamilton mailing list through the website or download the Hamilton app to check out availability. You will have a ball.
