Beauty contests aren’t really my first choice of viewing when the programme is aired on television. I always believed there was a subliminal message that if you didn’t resemble any of the contestants you weren’t a “whole” woman.
The emphasis is now changing and is geared very much towards charity work, keeping fit and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Current Miss Universe London, Cherelle Patterson, came to see me over the weekend and told me about her nerves upon winning the London crown, her reign, her hopes on winning Miss Universe Great Britain, and eventually going to the USA to compete for the Miss Universe Crown and meeting Donald Trump.
Wishing you every success Cherelle.
