#ThisBookClub Quiz London

IMG_20150519_0005The Grazia #ThisBookClub Quiz was a great success last night (Tuesday 19th May 2015) at All Bar One on New Oxford St. There were events running simultaneously in Leeds and Liverpool and you can read about the event on the site and see more of the photos as well – now this is what I call a Book Club!

Being a book lover myself it was an honour to be hosting the London leg of #ThisBookClub quiz with Baileys who sponsor the Women’s Prize for Fiction (and yes I did take a sip even though I don’t drink spirits).

There were three rounds of quick fire questions followed by networking which created an amazing atmosphere. #ThisBookClub established that regardless of age, race or gender, reading is still one of the most passionate past times and in my opinion always will be.

The teams that took part were aptly named:

  • Between the Lines,
  • Agatha QuizTeam,
  • The All Bar One Book Club,
  • Drankenstein
  • Binge Thinkers
  • Donna’s Tartts – WINNERS
  • Books vs Life – ‘the clever clog table’
  • Well Read and Good in Bed – ‘who answered all of harry potter questions correctly’
  • Balham Babes Book Club
  • Hans QuizTeam Anderson
  • The Bookies Favourite

There where ten questions in each round with a Bamboozler at the end of each round.  The Bamboozler which caused the most suspense was to name the Harry Potter books in order. It was a battle between ‘Books vs Life’ and ‘Well Read and Good in Bed’ who reigned victorious!

The night ended with the overall winners being Donna’s Tartts, but there was such a spirit of unity in the room even the team that came last gave themselves a massive cheer.

Thanks to Emily Phillips from Grazia magazine for putting on such a great event – I am so glad she asked me to host it.
