When this palette landed on my doorstep a few weeks ago, a smile broke out on my face as soon as I saw the packaging. Too Faced do novelty packing so well, and the Sugar Pop palette, the latest release from the brand tickles your tastebuds at first glance. I don’t even like macaroons, yet I felt like eating them thanks to the outer packaging!
Sugar Pop is a colorful palette of nine shimmer and glitter shadows in vanilla, chocolate and candy inspired hues that allow a range of irresistibly sweet looks for eyes that sparkle and pop!
- Sweet & Spicy Shades: Rock Candy, Macaron, Malted Milk Ball
- Sugar Plums Shades: Strawberry Ice, Sugared Violet, Blackberry
- Candy Coated Shades: Peach Fuzz, Bubblegum, Blue Raspberry
The pigment payoff is quite good, not the best I’ve swatched as I find the texture to be quite powdery, but certainly not the worst. All swatched smoothly with the exception of Malted Milk Ball, which felt a little gritty due to the shimmer in it, and Peach Fuzz, which was quite powdery. I had to swatch that twice to get decent payoff. With the exception of one matte eyeshadow shade (Blackberry), the rest have either a shimmery or glitter finish.
The palette also comes with Too Faced’s signature Glamour Guide, a pocket size insert with three looks to get you started.
Although playful and fun to look at, the shades in this palette aren’t to my personal taste. The three lighter shades I just wouldn’t use as they’re not very flattering on my skin tone and in all honesty I’d probably only use the darker shades, so this is wasted on me. If you love bright eyeshadow and stepping out of your comfort zone then you’ll get your money’s worth. I’d personally steer clear if you have a deep skintone, as you may not get use of all the shades included.
